I wanted to start off with a short summary about my career journey...
For as long as I can remember, I never wanted a "desk job". That's all I knew. I would get so frustrated from having no career direction. I would go back and forth between so many career ideas and majors. I thought I was the only one who was going through this struggle and everyone else had it so easy.
Fast forward to my first "real" job after college...it was in a call center for a major financial firm. I chose this purely for the money and benefits. I had absolutely no desire to be on the phone all day long. Since I had no concrete idea of what I wanted to do with my life, I just went with it. I eventually moved to a different position in the company, which was out of the call center environment. I made really good money. It was a much better fit and I learned a lot, but being at a desk still stunk.
After a few years, I left the financial firm to pursue Personal Training. I loved fitness and it would definitely get me away from a desk. But needless to say, it wasn't what I imagined and I was back at square one. As much as I hated doing it, I went back to the financial firm in a different department. I was just happy to be making money and being able to afford to eat more than white rice and beans.
Over the next several years, I attempted Personal Training one more time, moved cross country and went back into the financial field.
Over this entire time, I was doing eBay off and on. I really enjoyed the work, but never thought it would be able to become my career. About two years ago around this time, I started pursuing eBay even more. I would get up early and stay up late to get the extra work done. I really enjoyed it. So in Feb of 2013, I left my Corporate job and pursued eBay full time. It was super scary and not easy, but worth it.
Right now, the majority of my income comes from Amazon FBA. I do a very little bit with eBay and I also work for a sports recruiting company part time from home. I want to continue my FBA, but also write more on this blog and on Kindle. The opportunities to work from home are endless, but you just have to create your own opportunity.
I want to share with other people what I did to make my FBA income enough to support both me and my husband. When I share with other people my career, it just puzzles them. It puzzles me too because it just doesn't seem real. It's hard work, but this is what I always wanted! I also want to share other ways to make or save some money online. Maybe there are other people out there just like me who never wanted a desk job, but just took it for the money and benefits. I am not sure where this blog will lead, but if I can help one person with one thing...my job is done.
